Always checked out your trail system when driving through Montrose. Then was talking GPS with someone and they sent me a link to your site. My sled is up at Ande & son for service now. But since I have your trails on GPS and am a member now I might have to take a ride this weekend.

Any places to park and dump off? Anywere to get a paper map? Anything I should know as a first time ridder on these trails?

Hello from Neath Pa

Just wanted to introduce ourselves as new members. We are the Dean family from over here in Neath pa.
My boys Dustin and Corey Dean just completed the safety course that you put on last weekend. They are very
eager to ride. My husband Chris Dean and some of his friends are looking forward to riding the trails some Sunday
afternoon. The gang usually rides to Little Meadows from here when the conditions are good. We are opening up the trail
hopefully this weekend. We just became members to the SCSA and have passed out 4 applications to some sled buddies of ours.
We hope that the conditions will improve here shortly with snow on the forcast for Tues. Looking forward to seeing you on the trails.
Missy Dean

Just going to get the formalities out of the way here and introduce myself - John, my son Zach and my wife Justine. Not new to riding myself but it has been a couple of decades since and my how suspensions have changed. Anyway you have probably seen myself and Zach around riding or at a couple of club work functions and now that we have added another sled to the garage maybe see me some more if the wallet lets me.

Zach rides a 97 Arctic Cat Couger 550 that he bought himself just into last season. At the end of the season I bought a well used 98 Polaris 700 XC. Lots of new parts on mine when I got it but it had been sitting in a yard for the last 3 years. With a lot of help from Jake Bolles and Lou Mebus we had it overhauled and out for a test run. Just a bit more maintenance and she will be good to go.

Some background on myself without boring you to tears, I am the computer tech at Susquehanna Community HS and also own my own computer sales and service company called OEM Technologies. I am the Susquehanna County Delegate to the PA Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and the NE Division Chair for the same. These positions give me some unique insight and insider information of a lot of hunting, fishing, trapping and conservation issues that we face in the county and across the state. All that and an avid outdoors person, can’t get enough of it. See you on the trails!

Hello!

Well, I guess it is appropriate that I would be the first introduction since I created the forum.

My name is Rick Meder and I am from South Florida. Yes, you read correctly… I’m one of the very few crazy people that leave the South to head North to the snow for the winter! I try to make it up here from early January through to early March depending on work and family schedules. I get out riding every second I can and the rest of the time you will find me over at Elk skiing… oh, and working . My wife Jessica, my son Aidan (3 years old), and now my daughter Ashley Rose (8 weeks old) love spending as much time up here as possible. We usually make it up for a bit in the summer and occasionally in the Fall as well. Our family cabin was the first on Upper Lake (the original cottage was built over 100 years ago now!) and I have spent a good amount of time up here ever since I was baby.

I built the SCSA-PA.com website a couple years ago for the club and I decided that a forum would be a great addition. I’m really hoping that the forums get used more than the blog and photo galleries. I think it will as it is very simple to use. If anyone has any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask!

See you on the trails!

Rick

I joined in September and have been waiting for the snow to stay long enough to come up riding. I finally made it on Saturday. I left the pump and rode towards rt 11, then down over the hill, up the tracks- couldn’t figure out where the trail went after the wooden bridge on the tracks, back up the hill, past pump, crossed by PJ’s, came to a dirt road and wasn’t sure where to go, took another trail thru some fields, and turned around. Just over 50 miles.
Plenty of snow for the most part, awesome land and terrain. I was riding solo cause my wife couldn’t go and I never talked my buddies into buying the sticker. Next year you’ll have some more members, I have to get them up there. I know your working on maps and hope to see some by next riding season. A lot more miles would have been put on yesterday if I knew where I was.
Good job on the trails and the trail system I enjoyed them a lot and hope to ride them more.
Thank you
