The Rail-Trail Council of NEPA has planned a trash pickup along the Endless Mountains Trail, concentrating on the Rose Road area.

Saturday, May 5th starting at 9 AM.

Bags & gloves & water will be provided.

Federal legislation H.R. 7, the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act of 2012, is truly atrocious for many reasons. If it passes the House floor and becomes law as it now stands, the bill would:

Eliminate dedicated funding for trails, walking and bicycling;
Destroy a 40-year precedent of long-term dedicated funding for transit;
Do away with the rail-trail eligibility category in the Transportation Enhancements (TE) program;
Put our children in harm’s way by eliminating the Safe Routes to School program;
Fail to maximize its job creation potential, since trail, walking and bicycling projects create substantially more jobs per dollar than do highway projects;
Increase America’s dependence on foreign oil; and
Contribute to our growing health and obesity crises.

Since the bill is so far beyond repair, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) is joining a tremendous coalition of groups across the political spectrum to defeat this bill when it comes to the House floor—expected to begin Tuesday, February 14!

Saturday, January 28th, 2011

* Register between 8-10am on January 28th at the Pump N Pantry parking lot in Montrose. Look for the trailer to get signed up!

* Snow or shine, ride or drive, we will see you there!

* $15/person - $25/Husband & Wife (both must be present at all stops)

* The Run will end at 5pm at Andre’s (upper Bldg, next to Railbed) Must be present to draw cards. Five card draw, chance at Bonus Card

* Prizes will be awarded for the best poker hand, worst poker hand, and 50/50 raffle. Food and snacks will be provided by S.C.S.A

* Join the fun, stay on the trails and be safe. Remember this is not a race!!!

Hello everyone, Sunday January 15th, at 1:00 PM, I would like to meet at the New Milford Pump and Pantry to establish the new trail entrance on Peck Hill. This week we received approval to establish a trail head behind the Pump and Pantry. I do realize that this is short notice, but with the Poker Run coming up on January 28th, I wouldn’t like to leave this to the last minute. At this point I do not know what we will need to open the trail entrance, but if anyone can attend and bring saws, pruners, etc. it would be appreciated. Please pass this on to other members if you can.
